1. Who We Are

Costa Rica Home Finder (“we”, “us”) is a personal property introduction service based in Jaco, Costa Rica, operating costaricahomefinder.com. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have, in line with Costa Rica’s Law 8968 on the Protection of Individuals Regarding the Processing of Their Personal Data.

2. Information We Collect

• Information you send us: your name, email address, phone or WhatsApp number, what you’re interested in (buying, renting or selling), the property or area you’re asking about, and any message you write. If you share a property, we also collect its location, type, details and photos.
• Messages: if you contact us by WhatsApp, phone or email, we receive the information you share in those conversations.
• Technical information: like most websites, our server records basic technical data such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit, to keep the website secure and working properly.
• Usage information (with your consent): if you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics collects information such as the pages you view, how long you stay, the general area you visit from, your device type, and actions such as sending a form, tapping a phone number or opening WhatsApp.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To reply to your inquiry and send you a confirmation email.
• To understand what you’re looking for and suggest suitable properties or contacts.
• To make the introduction you ask for, connecting you with a property owner, buyer, renter or their chosen representative.
• To list and promote a property you ask us to share.
• To keep the website secure and improve it.
• If you accept analytics cookies, to measure how the website is used, including which pages are visited and whether visitors contact us by form, phone or WhatsApp.

4. When We Share Your Information

When you ask about a property or ask us to make a connection, we share your name and contact details with the owner of that property, or the person the owner has chosen, so they can contact you. If you list a property, we share your contact details with people interested in it. We also use trusted service providers to run the website and send email, such as our web hosting provider. We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we only share it with others when the law requires us to.

Once you are connected with another person, how they use your information is their responsibility.

5. Cookies, Analytics and Third-Party Services

When you first visit, a cookie banner lets you choose which cookies we use. You can change your choice at any time with the Cookie Settings link at the bottom of every page.

• Necessary cookies: needed for the website to work, stay secure and remember your cookie choice. These are always on.
• Analytics cookies (Google Analytics): used only if you accept them. They help us understand which pages and properties are popular, how visitors find us, and when someone sends one of our forms, taps a phone number or opens WhatsApp. We use this as statistics to improve the website. We do not use it to identify you, and we do not use it for advertising.

6. How Long We Keep It

We keep inquiry information for as long as needed to help you and to keep a record of the introductions we make, and then delete or anonymize it. You can ask us to delete your information at any time.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, to ask us to delete it, and to withdraw your consent to our use of it. To make a request, please contact us and we’ll respond as soon as we can.

8. How We Protect It

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including a secure (HTTPS) connection on our website. No method of sending or storing data online is completely secure, but we work to keep your information safe.

9. Children

Our website and services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
