Marina, Golf and a Calm Bay
Herradura’s horseshoe-shaped bay is protected from big swell, which makes it ideal for swimming, paddleboarding and boating. Los Sueños Resort & Marina brings a full-service marina and sportfishing fleet, a golf course, restaurants and gated residential communities.
Outside the resort, Herradura has a quieter, residential feel, and Jaco’s shops and restaurants are about 10 minutes away. For views and more space, the hills of Bijagual rise just inland.
Buying in Los Sueños
Los Sueños Resort & Marina is a gated, master-planned community set around the marina and golf course on Herradura Bay. Property here is mostly condos around the marina and fairways, plus a smaller number of homes and villas on the hillsides above, many with views over the bay. It is one of the most sought-after addresses on the Central Pacific, and prices reflect that.
Before you buy, ask about the monthly HOA fees and what they include, the community’s rental rules if you plan to rent the property out, and which resort amenities owners can use. If you own a boat, ask the marina about slip availability separately, since slips are not normally included with a property.
Herradura Outside the Resort
Beyond the resort gates, Herradura is a quiet, residential village with local sodas, a public beach and homes on larger lots, often at lower prices than inside Los Sueños. It suits buyers who want the calm bay and marina nearby without resort HOA fees. Jaco’s shops and restaurants are about 10 minutes south, and the cooler hills of Bijagual rise just inland. Can I keep a boat at Los Sueños marina?
Los Sueños has a full-service marina, but slips are managed by the marina, not sold with most properties. Ask the marina directly about availability and current rates before you buy.
Is Herradura quieter than Jaco?
Yes. Herradura is mostly residential, and Los Sueños is a gated resort community with a calm, polished feel, while Jaco’s nightlife and restaurants are a short drive away.
Are HOA fees higher in Los Sueños?

Can I rent my property in Los Sueños?
Many owners do, especially to sportfishing groups and families. Each community has its own rental rules, so confirm them in writing before you buy.
Is the beach in Herradura good for swimming?
